Antimicrobial wash lotion
SWELL EXTRA CHG is an antimicrobial wash lotion for antiseptic handwashing in medical institutions and other high-risk areas. It can also be used as a pre-operative hand scrub and pre-operative skin antiseptic for patients. It is alcohol, fragrance and colourant free.
SWELL EXTRA CHG has bactericidal (incl. MRSA) and yeasticidal (incl. C. albicans) activity and is effective against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It contains chlorhexidine, which provides long-lasting antimicrobial activity for up to 8 hours. Skin-friendly surfactants and moisturising components help prevent skin damage, dryness and irritation.
Antiseptic handwash: moisten hands and forearms, apply 3 ml and wash for 30 seconds. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
Surgical scrub: apply 5 ml and wash for 1 minute, cleaning nails with a brush; then apply another 5 ml and wash for 2 minutes.
Pre-operative patient skin antisepsis: wash the body with 25 ml of product, twice; recommended the day before and on the day of surgery. Rinse with water and dry with a clean towel.
pH 5–6. Stable for 12 months after opening.
